Pawpawty Update


I have been busy catching up on my sleep since the #pawpawty and also making sure that all the pwizes are on their way to all you lucky winners.

Just a quick update to say a very big thank you to all of the wonderful anipals who helped make this pawpawty one of the best ever despite some pretty major technical difficulties. I have not fully resolved the problem with tweetgrid, but I will make sure that we know the situation before the next pawpawty. Thanks to all of you who tried to make things work by setting up new accounts, and registering on friendfeed. Hopefully we will not have to do this too much in the future, but it is good to know that we have a back up if twitter breaks again.

Theme
Well you all did me proud with the outfits that you were wearing, but I can honestly say that I have never seen so much bad big hair or such a weird and wonderful selection of clothes, did people really wear that stuff? Yep some our silly humans did.

Music
The DJ's did us proud with the great selection of tunes, a big thanks out to @flothecat, @dobie_evgeni, @hotMBC, @Hanseebundee, @cosmohavanese, @inigoflufflebum, @orangegene, @Chevy_boo, @Totallylamont, @Theotigsy, @Jorton, @Flicka47, @Morriscat, @Pandafur, @BunnyJeanCook, @Rustythecat, an extra special thanks to @fergusthedog for arranging the DJ schedule, he is a star for helping organise this part of the #pawpawty. Donations
Thank you so much to all you for the great pwize donations all of the details of the individual donors and donations made are on my website, and they will stay on there for the next week or so until we start the July #PawPawty planning process. I have already started to receive donations for the next pawty so once again a huge thanks to all of you for your support.

QuizMasters
The huge number of contests we have is only possible with the help of the great quizmasters, so a big woof to my pals @emmythecat, @sylviedog, @mishakidd, @brewskiebutt, @cosmohavanese. You guys are the best, thank you for all your help.

Charity
As you all know we were helping support the angelsforanimal shelter this month and thanks to all of your donations, we exceeded the target at the PawPawty. And the great news is that if you did not get a chance to you can still donate until the end of this month, so if you have any pocket money left over please consider a small donation, every little helps anipals who are not as fortunate as we all are.

Winners
All of the pwizes should be in the post very soon if they are not already on their way to you, if you want to feature on future blogs, please remember to take a photo with your pwize let me know so and I can post a special pwize winners selection before the next #PawPawty.

Security
For the first time ever we had our own security team led by Captain @snick_the_dog, the guys kept any undesirables out by putting the bitey on any spammers who tried to gate crash the event. They also helped keep us anipals in line, you know how it is sometimes, one to many barkeritas or niptinis. Read their fantastic report. New Events
We tried a new event at this #PawPawty a quiz called a #pawbquiz which lasted just over an hour and featured questions about cocktails, famous anipals, and the 1980's from @joecassels it was great fun and we will try to see if we can a quiz again at future pawties.

Next PawPawty
I can't wait for the next pawpawty, which is is on the 11th & 12th July, so make sure you put the dates in your diary. If you would like to suggest a theme please post a comment on this post and I will arrange a poll in early July.

Even Twitter Break down can't stop the anipals

Memorial weekend in the US and May Bank Holiday in UK marked the weekend out for another crazy #pawpawty. This time we decided to Go Global with a #weekendroadtrip.

We visited Brazil, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Santa Barbara, Madison, Chicago, London, Canton, Devon, Cornwall, Florida, Australia including the Great Barrier Reef, a New Zealand Sheep Farm, Costa Rica and Rome amongst others.

How did we do this? well we had an anipal guide for each location and they shared information and pawtographs about their location with everyone else who was at the pawty.

Anyone could come along, all they had to do was follow the pawty by using the hashtag #wekendroadtrip. 

It was all going so well
We were having fun in Rome when disaster struck and twitter lost its search functionality. This would have stopped mere mortals but not the twitter anipals. We carried on with the trip although it was a little more difficult without being able to see everyone's comments via tweetdeck, tweetgrid or just through normal search on twitter.

It was about eight hours before twitter fixed the problem so undaunted we extended the pawty to make sure we could see all of the places still on the tour schedule.

So this pawty has become the official longest pawpawty ever so far on twitter.

As usual there were lots of fun and games, with wonderful songs from our great DJ's who even managed to match the songs with the locations, sheer genius in fluffy form I say. There was also the chance to win some great prizes donated to help us in our fund raising activities, which is after all one of the reasons why we have regular #pawpawty events on twitter.

We were raising funds for a great organisation VetDogs which is a program from the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc. they provide  guide dogs and specialized service dogs to help veterans and wounded soldiers maintain mobility and independence. 

Our very own @GD_kenworth a guide dog himself and his pal @flicka47
set everything up and I helped out with the organising and scheduling. My head still hurts from working out all the different time zones!!

The event was a great success and I am sure we may have another roadtrip again sometime, as it was great fun and very informative to find out about places some of us anipals have only ever dreamed about.

Remember you can still donate to this great cause, even a small amount of money can make a huge difference.

Finally a big High Paw to all the tour guides, DJ's Bartenders, pwize donors and to all the anipals and people who joined in ,having fun and helping us raise funds.

Be sure to put the dates for the next #pawpawty in your diary 13th and 14th June, it is gonna be a good one 1980's theme so get your outfit organised.

Some great pwizes from @henryandfriends

Look at all of the great pwizes @henryandfriends got for the #pawpawty when he went on a visit to the Margaret Green Animal Rescue Centre, the anipal shelter we are supporting during the #pawpawty.

@henryandfriends also took some pictures and we will have some of them on my blog soon.

Please remember to help the anipals at the shelter who have not found their furever homes, if you can spare even £1 or $1 you could make a difference to a little anipal's life.

Pawpawty Special Competition

Hello anipals, what a busy busy time I have had arranging exciting things for the #pawpawty.

The schedules for the DJ's and the Competitions are now on listed above. Please make sure you are following the quiz masters so you can DM answers to them when they ask the questions during the party.

As you know we said we have a special pwize donated by the lovely lady who owns Not Forgotten Arts, we are having a special drawing for this prize which will have any picture you like on your very own personalised clock. To be in with a chance of winning it all you need to do is to go to the facebook page for Not Forgotten Arts and leave a comment as to why you should win the clock.

Then after the #pawpawty has finished we will make a special draw and announce the winner.

You can leave your comments any time from now until the end of the #pawpawty.

#pawpawty On


You voted and here it is... the next #pawpawty is going to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of May yep that is this weekend. We will start at 19:00DST UK, 11:00PDT, 14:00EDT, 06:00NZST, and yes it will be for 24 hours.

Despite the terrible news about swine flu we will still have a cinco de mayo mexican celebration theme to show our support for all of our pals in Mexico who will not be able to join in the celebrations, and for all the other countries who have since been troubled by this horrible virus.

Dress Code
Which means we will all need sombreros, feathers ,flowers and all girlies please remember all dresses must be frilly. The gorgeous @emmythecat will be doing another paws wall and some competitions so make sure you have your pawty outfits on have updated your twitter profile picture and have responded to the twtvite invitation so emmy can get your pretty picture.

Venue
We have managed to book an exclusive new virtual location for our fiesta, its a Critter Ranch where all anipals are welcome. There is a huge outdoor arena with space for a little Mexican Rodeo fun. The hot tubs are outside as well next to the swimming pool so you can take a well earned break from dancing. Speaking of dancing we will be having a salsa dancing competition which will be held in the big red barn. Inside there are three bars two of them will have great sounds playing from some of our well known DJ's, I think there will be some cat scratch poles in one of the bars. The third bar is a relaxing chill out room with huge sofas to lounge on and tasty nibbles to tickle your taste buds.

Eats
Oh yes and there will be a 24 hour banquet in the Green Barn serving all of your favourite pawty treats, tuna tacos, beef burritos, honey tortillas, carrot chimichangas, cheerio enchiladas and lots of hot hot hot sauce if that is what you. If you want to bring a party platter along to share with your anipals just drop it on the banqueting tables in the Green Barn.

Tequila, kahlua Corona and Sol Beer will be the order of the day, as well as all of the usual niptinis and barkeritas.  

Fundraising
While we are having fun at the Ranch we will also be raising funds for a great animal shelter in the UK. Please donate what you can to help us reach our goal, you can donate here

Some more of my twitter pals

Buzz and Woody are  famous you know look how well they take direction on a recent photo shoot 
I think they like to share everything 
So on my twitter travels I have met some more lovely pups that are right on my door step well if I get on a train and go south of London to Surrey which is a lovely place. As you can see they are both Schnauzers Woody is a standard boy and Buzz is a giant girl. 

Buzz (lady) and Woody (gentledog) are very good friends of mine, and I usually get to hear about what they are up to from their furmum @pixies_mum who tells me all the exciting stuff they do. They go to doggie day care where they get to play with lots of lovely doggie pals.

The super Pawpawty

Happy birthday to a very special Puss
It is a very special day on the 1st April because it it the @BrewskiButt 's birthday, he is 5 years old so to mark this special occasion Brew has decided to host another #pawpawty.

For those of you who don't know what a #pawpawty is well it is a way for all of the critters on twitter to have some fun and games and to help raise money for animal charities at the same time.

We are still finalising all of the details but the most important thing for you to do at the moment it to make a note of the date and time.

A Date for your Diary
The #pawpawrty will start at 14:00 EDT 19:00 GMT on Sunday the 5th April and yes it will keep going for a full 24 hours, so there is plenty of time for you all to pop in and say hello to all of your anipals.

We already have a number of games and prizes planned and we will be accepting more donations and suggestions of games for the rest of this week.

We will be raising funds via @romeothecat s great charity pages and details of the charity will be available very soon.

Get your outfit sorted soon
As we all like dressing up for the #pawpawty we expect that you will want to get your party gear on, and as easter is fast approaching we will have an easter theme this time. We have joined up with @Duke_Richard_II who is having competition for around $20 of animal specific prize mailed anywhere in the world and  if you want to be in with a chance of winning, simply get your easter costume on and visit @Duke_Richard_II blog here to make a comment.

We will also be doing another anipals wall and @emmythecat will be organising some find the anipal competitions during the #pawpawty so if you want your photo on the wall then you need to update your twitter profile photo, and make sure that you are following and have asked @emmythecat to add your photo to the wall.

The great #pawpawty update


Sorry
First I must apologise for taking so long to get the update about the St Patrick's Day #pawpawty updated. We had a little incident at the office where one of the team tried to pick up something heavy and hurt herself and then an unexpected little trip to London. All of which meant that I could not get my paws on the puter thing. Anyhow all back to normal now so on with the 

#pawpawty update 
What a 24hour event it turned out to be, it all started at 19:00GMT and 15:00EST on the 17th March and we were in a pawty mood right from the start.

We had lots of anipal treats to eat, salmon and tuna for the cats and liver and steak for the dogs, we even had some extra special grass for the @goatsincoats.

And that's not all for drinks we enjoyed green beer, whine , guinness, catmopolitans , and pina catladas, and of course we had to have a few shots of pussmills whiskey.

We started with music from @petboutique and this carried on for quite a few hours with such special tunes as "everybody wants to be a cat"  and "how much is that doggie in the window" keeping is all on the dance floor for most of the evening.

As we switched time zones we were joined by lots of anipals from around the globe, and as usual the crazy cats and dogs kept the pawty going until 06:00GMT, by which time we all had to have a little nap.

The pawty was back in full swing by 10:00GMT and we carried on right through until 19:00GMT on the 18th March.

This was a massive effort by all involved, and while we were all having fun we were also helping to raise money for @romeothecat 's charity Animals in Distress, the good news is that because of our efforts before, during and after the event Romeo has already hit his target of a massive $1000. Well done and a huge high paws to all who so kindly donated.

The final results of all of the competitions are now all in and indeed most of the anipals have already received their prizes.

Competition Results
The ever popular Rawhide Wars was sponsored by @dogstories and the winners of the two rounds were @fergusthedog and @brunothedog you can read all about bruno here on the dogstories blog , soon you will be able to read an update about fergus as well.      

@mifurryfriends sponsored a lovely doggie shampoo which was won by @perrythebirman, who tells me his doggie friend Samson is smelling a lot nicer since this arrived.

@tiny_the_dog COO of flexpet also sponsored the event and the following anipals won a free sample of joint pain supplements to keep them bouncing along.

All of the anipals loved dressing up for St Pawwdy's day and we had 5 of the famous find the pic competitions run by @emmythecat, who created a number of St Paws picture walls for us all to enjoy. The pets who one a prize sponsored by @frugaldougal 's team were.
As all of you guys live in the US FrugalDougal asked Paul at @bakersdog to arrange for some doggie treats to be sent out. A big thanks to the frugaldougal team for sponsoring these prizes and also to @bakersdog for arranging for all of the presents to be posted at his own expense.

@bakersdog also sponsored an individual prize of some lovely kitty treats and this was won by @perrythebirman, he sure is one clever cat

@diggeratgadzoo sponsored two prizes, a fantastic pack containing a t-shirt, a flash drive, pet bowls and scoop went to @houseofpuddles and @mozartdane won a feature post on diggers blog you can read more about him here

@shopmollyd donated a lovely personalised keychain and this was won by @rogerdog have a look at the fantastic personalised items that shopmollyd create here.

@flicka47 helped us drum up some more funds by sponsoring a prize of some great Kitty Caviar and Venison Dog Jerky which was won by @qcdogblog

Best Dressed
The prize for the best dressed kitty went to @missgypsykitty, this prize was sponsored by @frugaldougal 's team and was provided by the guys @bakersdog

The prize for the best dressed doggie went to @timmy_dog and was sponsored by @petboutique if you want to see more of the crazy bandannas that these guys create have a look here.
