Another Great PawPawty

St Pawtrick's PawPawty
What another great PawPawty mai pals, thank you all so much for making this Pawty an extra special one, we celebrated PawPawty being ONE whole year old and raised $1450 for Potcake Pups. None of this would be possible without the dedication of the PawPawty organisers and participants. I never imagined a year ago that we would have a full team of DJ's, Barktenders, Chefs, Sekurity, QuizMasters who dedicate time and effort to making the events a success time after time.

A special thank you goes out to all of the generous people who donate gifts to be used a prizes at the PawPawty, did you know that we have given away over 700 pwizes in the past year, you guys amaze me!

Onwards and Upwards
We have some great new events and activities planned for the year ahead to make the 2nd year of PawPawty even more exciting, fun and to hopefully benefit even more shelters so keep your eyes open and your paws ready to join in the fun. The first of these starts this week with our brand new Sponsor Saturday!

Want to Help?
Of course you all know that if you want to join in and help at the PawPawty there are lots of things you can do the ever popular DJing and Barktending are great fun and many of you do both at the same event!  If you want find out more about being a DJ then please contact @Fergusthedog. If mixing a mean cocktail is more your thing then get in touch with @Georgetheduck.

We are currently recruiting for new members of the PawPawty Security Team, if you are interested in being part of the team that Pawtect and Serve the PawPawty then please contact Captain Snickers (you get a cool uniform to wear while you are on duty!)

Fancy yourself as a Quiz Master? We need help with some of the Quizzing on a regular basis so if you fancy asking the questions then please get in touch with me @frugaldougal, your questions are supplied so all you have to do is ask the questions and let me know who has won it really is that simple.

St Paws PawPawty - Potcake Place


Well mai pals we have held the draw for the recipient of the February #PawPawty and I am pleased to announce it is Potcake Place which was nominated by @buzzlucas

About the Charity
"Potcake Place was first set up in a home on Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, which has fostered puppies for many years. They are a Non-Profit organisation made up of a group of volunteers who want to help these rescued potcakes. They take pups to the vet, and give them all vaccinations, wormers and other treatments appropriate for their age.

There is no animal shelter in The Turks and Caicos. They look after these Potcakes in their own homes until a permanent home can be found. Their policy is to house the pets for as long as it takes to find the best home. This is the only alternative they can see to them starving in the bush, being run over, intentionally poisoned, dying of Heartworm/Ehrlichia/Parvo or being euthanized.

They socialise the pups with beach trips, and organise dog training where necessary. They meet potential adoptive families for a play session with the pups. If an adoption goes ahead, we take the pup to the vet to arrange a health certificate, book the pup on to the plane, and meet the families at the airport. They also spend time finding volunteers to transport the pup if the family are not visiting the island.

Their aim is to increase the chances of finding a place for every Potcake. They hope Potcake Place can grow to involve more foster homes and to continue an adoption programme."

Nominations
Again this month we have not been able to do the televised draw as we still do not have a video camera available. So the staff used an on line service called Random to pick out the winner.

#PawPawty September 26th-27th


Well mai pals the voting has ended and I would like to say congratulations to SoiDog who had an amazing 150270 votes. I have been blown away by the amount of votes that have been cast, I am sending out healing licks to all your paws I think there might be some new cases of RPI, repetitive paw injury!

I really wish that all of the shelters and charities could have won, they are all very worthy causes. We are investigating ways that we can help more shelters with bigger events in the meantime you can help us by tweeting about the PawPawty, telling your pals on Facebook and other sites, generally help us spread the word. More supporters means we can help more anipals around the world one paw at a time!

September #PawPawty Charity


My Pals the Poll for the September #PawPawty charity will close on the 17th September at 1am UK time, and the recipient will be announced on the 18th. I have been amazed by the number of votes that have been received so I want to say a big thank you to all of you who have taken the time to vote, some of you must have very sore paws!!

As soon as this voting is completed I will open the voting for the PawPawty Theme, so far we have the following suggestions

Voting for September PawPawty

Well my anipals we are just getting over the fantastic woodstock #PawPawty and already preparations are well underway for the September #Pawpawty. But I need your help!!!

As you know we always like to support charities from around the world, usually the charity is picked from random from the submissions I receive from all my anipals. This month I want to try a different approach and for this I need your help. Woodstock what a Blast


Well mai pals I have just about recovered from the Woodstock #pawpawty, what a great pawty with great pals and what a lot of money we raised for TEARS.

I would like to say a special thanks to all of the anipals who generously donated some fantastic pwizes for all of the quizes we had I really do appreciate your continued support of these events. So a big woofy bark out to.




Sekurity
As usual we had the sekurity team led by @snick_the_dog who made sure that we did not have any unwelcome guests gate crashing the pawty as well as keeping us all in order. This pawty had more than its fair share of exotic nip and other concoctions so we were grateful to the sekurity team for making sure we all stayed safe. So a paws salute to @shawneeshep, @treehuggingpets, @mizcleo, @brutusthedane ,@bloodhoundndots, @morriscat, @lexiloudog

Music
A pawty is not a pawty without music and what great sounds all of the happening DJ and CJ team provided. My great pal @fergusthedog organised the whole schedule so a big dougal lick to fergus and all of the fantastic team @hotmbc,@flothecat,@perrythebirman,@georgetheduck,@bunnyjeancook


Barktenders
Due to popular demand we created a Barktenders team and a big meow goes out to @javathecat for all the hard work on getting a great team together. As if that was not enough we also had the services of the Jaba Jazz Bar & eCafé at this months pawpawty and they even created a special themed menu just for the woodstock event. So a big I'm never drinking again (or at least until the next pawpawty) cheers to all the gang.

Quizmasters
We had 65 pwizes to give away at the pawpawty so that meant that we had to do organise a lot of questions and then run the quizzes. So a big meow to @Romeothecat for helping with the questions and for being a quizmaster and a a special dougal wooftastic barkout to all the quizmasters who did a great job with all of the quizzes. As you all know the reason why we do this every month is to help raise funds for shelters and animals who are less fortunate than we are so it was great news to hear that we blasted the target and the final total at the end of the pawty was $1281 which went to TEARS. August #PawPawty - I'm testing out chew sticks!!


Hello mai pals well what a busy month August has been already, I know lots of you are on having a well deserved summer vacation, or staycation.

Here at #pawpawty central we have had a few changes because the staff are having to do more 'work' than normal, so we have not been able to devote as much time to tweeting with all of our pals. I miss all mai anipals so much.

But it will soon be time again for us to get together for the August #pawpawty. The first thing we need to sort out is the pawty theme. Now I know that a lot of you guys want a Woodstock theme because it is the 40th anniversary this year, but we have had a few other suggestions so you all know what you have to do. Yep get voting for the theme that you want. All you have to do is use the voting buttons on the right to cast your vote.

As soon as the vote closes on the 18th of August you can all then get in touch with your pawsonal stylists to make sure that you have the very best outfit ready for the pawparrazi!!

As you all know we are supporting @Romeothecat's monthly furpower challenge in August which this month is a great place called TEARS, The Emergency Rescue Service in Birmingham, Alabama as the recipient of all of the funds raised. You can see how much has been raised so far, and donate using the link on the left.

The usual suspects will be required to help out and I know that @fergusthedog will be organising the DJ schedule along with @snick_the_dog who will be looking for sekurity volunteers.

July #pawpawty charity

Mai pals I am so pleased to announce that I did the draw with the staff this weekend for the July pawpawty charity and the shelter we will be supporting is the D'Arcy's A.R.C


Animals Rescue Centre which is a shelter that is dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs from situations of abandonment, homelessness, neglect and abuse. All animals are given the veterinary care they need and a safe and comfortable place to live until they are adopted for life.

This charity was nominated by @petiethecat so a big thanks to petie for nominating the shelter.

The shelter is a Canadian shelter so we really are helping anipals across the world, first it was America, then the UK, next is Canada, who knows where we will help next.

You can start donating now before the pawpawty starts by visiting the secure donation page. At the moment you will have to go to the donation page to see the amount raised.

With so many deserving causes it is really is very difficult to decide which shelter or charity to help and I really did just put all the names into a virtual hat to pick the lucky recipient. I am so very sorry that the other charities who were nominated this month could not also be the winners.

In future months I will implement a voting system which will mean that you have a greater say in which charity we support. I do not want this to turn into some sort of competition like tweeterwall, and I am not trying to get you all to come visit my blog, but I feel that some sort of voting system where the anipals who contribute to the charity events can have a voice on who we help is important.

I will be busy over the next few days getting all the pwize details entered onto the site, so keep your eyes peeled for new information.

Pawpawty Update


I have been busy catching up on my sleep since the #pawpawty and also making sure that all the pwizes are on their way to all you lucky winners.

Just a quick update to say a very big thank you to all of the wonderful anipals who helped make this pawpawty one of the best ever despite some pretty major technical difficulties. I have not fully resolved the problem with tweetgrid, but I will make sure that we know the situation before the next pawpawty. Thanks to all of you who tried to make things work by setting up new accounts, and registering on friendfeed. Hopefully we will not have to do this too much in the future, but it is good to know that we have a back up if twitter breaks again.

Theme
Well you all did me proud with the outfits that you were wearing, but I can honestly say that I have never seen so much bad big hair or such a weird and wonderful selection of clothes, did people really wear that stuff? Yep some our silly humans did.

Music

Donations
Thank you so much to all you for the great pwize donations all of the details of the individual donors and donations made are on my website, and they will stay on there for the next week or so until we start the July #PawPawty planning process. I have already started to receive donations for the next pawty so once again a huge thanks to all of you for your support.

QuizMasters
The huge number of contests we have is only possible with the help of the great quizmasters, so a big woof to my pals @emmythecat, @sylviedog, @mishakidd, @brewskiebutt, @cosmohavanese. You guys are the best, thank you for all your help.

Charity
As you all know we were helping support the angelsforanimal shelter this month and thanks to all of your donations, we exceeded the target at the PawPawty. And the great news is that if you did not get a chance to you can still donate until the end of this month, so if you have any pocket money left over please consider a small donation, every little helps anipals who are not as fortunate as we all are.

Security
For the first time ever we had our own security team led by Captain @snick_the_dog, the guys kept any undesirables out by putting the bitey on any spammers who tried to gate crash the event. They also helped keep us anipals in line, you know how it is sometimes, one to many barkeritas or niptinis. Read their fantastic report. New Events
We tried a new event at this #PawPawty a quiz called a #pawbquiz which lasted just over an hour and featured questions about cocktails, famous anipals, and the 1980's from @joecassels it was great fun and we will try to see if we can a quiz again at future pawties.

Next PawPawty
I can't wait for the next pawpawty, which is is on the 11th & 12th July, so make sure you put the dates in your diary. If you would like to suggest a theme please post a comment on this post and I will arrange a poll in early July.

Back to the 80's PawPawty


At last it is the news you have all been waiting for.... the June #PawPawty will be held on the 13th/14th June. The Pawty will start at 19:00DST UK, 11:00PDT, 14:00EDT 06:00NZST, and yes it will go on for a full 24hours until the 14th. You can check the times on the world clock.

For some time I have been asked to have an 80's theme pawty so here it is, your chance to get out all of your vintage gear ( if you are old enough to have some). Everyone is welcome, if you were a New Romantic, New Wave Fan, Disco Diva, or a Glam Metal Dude or anything in between we will have something for all. 

Paws Wall
The wonderful @emmythecat will be creating a Paws Wall for us so we can all have a look at the great 80's fashion styling that you come up with. Make sure you are following @emmythecat and please change your Avatar as soon as possible ( we all know twitter has had some photo update delays recently so you don't want to miss out) and let emmy know so she can include you on the Paws Wall.

This month at the #Pawpawty we are supporting @Romeothecat 's Monthly Furpower Challenge which is for Angels For Animals, a very worthy cause. Please remember to donate what you can as every little helps.

New for the PawPawty
We also have a new event this month at the #Pawpawty we will be having a #pawbquiz, basically this is like a UK Pub Quiz but it is on line some of you may have seen the anipals team taking part in the #twubquiz which @Joecassels hosts on Tuesdays on twitter. Well Joe has kindly agreed to host a special hour long anipal special quiz for us. Details of how to enter the Quiz will be available soon but in the meantime you might want to organise your quiz partner as this is a team event with a maximum of two anipals per team. (You can play on your own, it just might be more fun with a partner!!).

Finally for those of you new to the #Pawpawty ( and for a little fun) I have created a new website which I hope will provide you with some hints and tips to help you enjoy the #Pawpawty. #pawpawty On


You voted and here it is... the next #pawpawty is going to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of May yep that is this weekend. We will start at 19:00DST UK, 11:00PDT, 14:00EDT, 06:00NZST, and yes it will be for 24 hours.

Despite the terrible news about swine flu we will still have a cinco de mayo mexican celebration theme to show our support for all of our pals in Mexico who will not be able to join in the celebrations, and for all the other countries who have since been troubled by this horrible virus.

Dress Code
Which means we will all need sombreros, feathers ,flowers and all girlies please remember all dresses must be frilly. The gorgeous @emmythecat will be doing another paws wall and some competitions so make sure you have your pawty outfits on have updated your twitter profile picture and have responded to the twtvite invitation so emmy can get your pretty picture.

Venue
We have managed to book an exclusive new virtual location for our fiesta, its a Critter Ranch where all anipals are welcome. There is a huge outdoor arena with space for a little Mexican Rodeo fun. The hot tubs are outside as well next to the swimming pool so you can take a well earned break from dancing. Speaking of dancing we will be having a salsa dancing competition which will be held in the big red barn. Inside there are three bars two of them will have great sounds playing from some of our well known DJ's, I think there will be some cat scratch poles in one of the bars. The third bar is a relaxing chill out room with huge sofas to lounge on and tasty nibbles to tickle your taste buds.

Eats
Oh yes and there will be a 24 hour banquet in the Green Barn serving all of your favourite pawty treats, tuna tacos, beef burritos, honey tortillas, carrot chimichangas, cheerio enchiladas and lots of hot hot hot sauce if that is what you. If you want to bring a party platter along to share with your anipals just drop it on the banqueting tables in the Green Barn.

Tequila, kahlua Corona and Sol Beer will be the order of the day, as well as all of the usual niptinis and barkeritas.  

Fundraising
While we are having fun at the Ranch we will also be raising funds for a great animal shelter in the UK. Please donate what you can to help us reach our goal, you can donate here

We are having a DJ schedule arranged by the wonderful @fergusthedog and @cosmohavanese so contact those guys if you wanna play some songs for your pals at the #pawpawty.

We also need bar tenders so if you want to shake a few cocktails then please contact @frugaldougal.

If you want to host part of the pawty and run some of the competitions just let me know, you all know how much of a pawty anipal I am but even I need some naps!
